The Area focuses on integrated policies for sustainable development from various perspectives - planning, programming, technical management, and innovation projects - with the goal of supporting the Region and other partners in the ecological transition, promoting research and innovation in related fields.
The topics range from circular economy and the fight against pollution of environmental matrices (water and air) to climate change mitigation and adaptation, from blue growth to hydrogen, from energy communities to Green Public Procurement.
Within the Sustainable Development Area, there is also the Accreditation Body, which is responsible for energy certification and thermal plant inspections in buildings.
