The Unit develops innovation projects and thematic insights in cutting-edge fields, exploring the potential of new regional value chains emerging from process and product innovation with a focus on sustainability. Key areas of interest include blue growth, green hydrogen, and sustainable finance (DNSH and taxonomy), where the Unit also engages the regional ecosystem to foster technological solutions, new training programmes, or demonstration projects.
The Unit represents the regional ecosystem in major national and European networks related to innovation with impacts on the circular economy and the development of renewable energy sources (National Technology Clusters for Energy, Blue Growth, and Green Chemistry, EIT Raw Materials, Vanguard Initiative). Its goal is to develop pioneering projects for the ecological transition.
